When school is out, it's Summer time for the kids! Summer is one of the most awaited breaks of our family. It's our time to bond during family vacations or if not travelling, through playtime.

But because it's summer, it's really humid at times so my kids get SSS - Sweaty, Sticky, and sometimes Stinky! We could take the bath route up to twice a day but when bath time isn't time yet, I keep them fresh and cool instantly with baby colognes.

The program was hosted by one of my favorite radio DJs, the pretty and talented Riki Flores. She had a short interview with Bambini Baby Cologne's newest endorser Ms. Iya Villania-Arellano.

Iya shared how her life has changed with the arrival of Primo and now expecting their next child. She talked about balancing motherhood and career and shared, “I’m not sure how I balance my career with being a mom and a wife; it just happens!” she beams. “When you know what's important and what you need to get done, then you make it happen. It's important that I list things down so I don't forget. I really need to put things down in my calendar even if its date night with Drew or a playdate for Primo.” And she's no different than any moms who thinks that the greatest challenge is to be there for her child “every moment he does something new or silly” and wanting to be there to witness it. Because at how she experiences motherhood and the excitement of expecting another one, I feel like we're BFFs na rin!

So I am a work at home mom now and maybe some of you think that I haven't been doing real deal household chores because I've worked all my life - and that my most hated chore (as most of my mom friends say) is ironing. Wrong.

So there you go loves, Easter Egg Hunting activities which are FREE, Php1,000 under, and over Php1000. These activities are compiled annually, listing for everybody, for every budget. The most important of all is to celebrate Jesus' resurrection by having a good family bonding full of fun and love!

Easter Sunday is around the corner and many establishments have prepared a grand celebration for children around the metro to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! Check some of these Eater Egg Hunting Events HERE.

Some of these events are free or Php1,000 under which is already a compelling reason for families to go to the malls or hotels this coming Easter Sunday for the fun games, activities, shows, and of course hunt for eggs in exchange of prizes. In the past years, I've done that with my children and though each time they're exciting and happy, they are also tired.

And then there are also some who couldn't go to these Easter party or celebrations because of many reasons such as:

They are on a vacation and taking advantage of the long weekend.
They don't have a budget for hotel events.
Even if they have a budget, the registration has ended.
Free mall activities are always jam-packed and they don't have enough patience to endure long queues.
Being in a crowded place is not their idea of fun.
They'd rather stay home to avoid the traffic.

And many more reasons.

So what do some parents with these reasons do (which we plan to do this time around)? Stay at home and prepare their own practical and inexpensive Easter Sunday celebration with family.

One of the most important elements of the celebration apart from food to share and eggs to decorate hunt is the Easter Basket fillers. I've listed some ideas below which you could DIY.

1. Bunny Novelties

This could be a plush, a head band, stickers, notepads, masks, and many more!

2. Children's Bible/Books

any informative books would be a good idea, but I highly suggest Children's Bible

such as these what I have for my kids. The stories in the Bible will make them understand why we are celebrating Easter - The Resurrection of Jesus Christ!

3. Yummy Treats such as:

MINE Hazelnut Chocolate Bar

Each of these packs contains 12 wafer sticks. The serving is quite a lot for one child, so this encourages sharing. One pack though is enough for any adult to enjoy. Hindi bitin!

The Richoco Chocolate Wafer, my two younger kids' current favorite snack and baon, has a true chocolate taste but is surprisingly not too sweet.

Richeese Cheese Wafer on the other hand, my teenager son's favorite comes in a real deal cheese flavor (which I think could be a good companion to wine drinkers too!)

So there you have it, some Easter Basket Filler Ideas which any mom and even dad could easily DIY. Again, let's not forget to share to our children how God loves all of us that He gave us and sacrificed His only son Jesus to die on the cross to save us all from our sins. And that Jesus is real reason for all the Easter Sunday celebration.

Honestly, I don't know anyone who didn't grow up with or don't know National Book Store. It's the go to book store since I started schooling, until I graduated college, and up to this day that I have my own studying children. I blogged about the Bambini Baby Cologne Family Bootcamp event before the Holy Week where they launched the new look of the cologne and also introduced their newest endorsers, Ms. Iya Villania-Arellano and super cute son Primo.

We got the complete set of the Bambini Baby Cologne for us to try at home. My kids and I (except the teenager, who's no longer a baby - but he still is for me!) tried and tested the five cologne variants to see what will appeal to us. Yup, there are five scents to choose from and I tell you, they all smell so sweet and fresh. It's like having a scent for each personality or mood.

So going back to the little outdoor-y scent experiment we had, I laid all the five scents of Bambini Baby Cologne. Here are the scents:

Morning Tickles - has a floral and sweet scent and it comes in a pink bottle. When we think of floral, sweet, and the color pink. We think of little girls. My boys associated this scent variant to girls because of its color.

Sunny Playtime - has a citrusy and fun scent which comes in orange color with a cute Lion character. This scent variant is my favorite among the five.

Ocean Kisses - has the clean and breeze scent which is very well represented by its color: Blue. At first I thought my boys will prefer this scent, but I was wrong. This cologne gives me an impression of the feels of the ocean. It also comes in a cute dolphin character on its bottle.

Cotton Cuddles - has the cottony fresh scent. If you're looking for a mild and clean scent this one's for you. It comes in fresh color, green with the fluffy sheep as its animal character on its bottle.

Starry Lullaby - has the calming scent among five variants. It reminds me of its very color, Lavander, the calming natural plant applied as oil to calm, relax, and soothe babies/kids at bed time. The name starry lullaby represents any mom-and baby nightly routine. I can imagine the favorite children's lullaby we sing to our kids "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." Its cute owl character also represents being nocturnal or an animal of the night.

So now, here's our review, what I like about Bambini Baby Cologne:
1. Easy-to-go grip bottles - I like that the bottles are curvy so its easy to handle and won't slip easily.
2. They come in three practical sizes - They come in 25ml, 50ml, and 125ml. The smallest size is very handy especially for short trips to kids' pedia doctor or short pasyal to the mall or park. So that it won't take too much space or make the baby bag heavy. The medium is still okay for travel size for use of many persons, pwede! The biggest bottle is for home use.
3. Distinct scent per variant - There's a scent for everybody. The scents suit different preferences of children and even adults who just want to splash cologne when the weather is humid and they want an instant fresh feeling.
4. Scent lasts longer compared to what we use - This is proven. The scent lasts from after my son's morning bath up to around 2pm. So with that said, this cologne is practical to use because you don't need to re-apply many times a day.
5. Cute colors and animal characters per bottle - The cute mom-and-child animal characters per bottle are so adorable and attractive to kids and kids-at-heart. Mapapansin mo talaga sila in the supermarket shelves.

As parents we always want our children to grow up healthy, talented, and smart. That's why we invest in the right food, enroll them in programs, purchase educational toys, and purchase the right tools to make our home conducive to learning while playing. That's how the little children learn in the fist place right?

From my first son to my youngest, toys and books have been part of their motor skills and mental development. We choose their toys and books appropriate for their age. But even if I have the best intentions for my kids in my mind, I am not perfect, so I sometimes forget to also get them a good toy organizer and a sturdy bookshelf. Well, actually to be more accurate, I bought them toy chests, toy boxes, toy barrels, book ends, re-purposed shelves to store books, but there seem to be something wrong about how they are displayed or organized. I also canvassed for kids' furniture in malls or have them customized, but the prices aren't practical. Too expensive for me.

Until I got acquainted with Happy Kiddos Toys and Kids' Furniture Shop PH. They have wonderful selection of Montessori-inspired Kiddie classroom furniture such as toy shelves/organizers, book shelves, tables and chairs. They also distribute wooden toys and kiddie playground used indoor or outdoor. Finding them was a gem and the kids and I are truly happy with the furniture we got from Happy Kiddos.

I used to put their books together secured by those boring and unattractive steel book ends. They only get to see the titles of the books on the side and not the cover. So needless to say, this type of book organizing didn't entice my children to pick up the books themselves as often as now. Also, I didn't realize how much books they had accumulated over the years until we displayed the books on the book shelf we got from Happy Kiddos. Since then, we got to select the books that they really like, got rid of those that didn't spark joy by giving them away.

We placed it near their bed to encourage them to read books and make it a habit before bedtime. It's a joy to see all the books displayed in a kiddie sized book shelf which I see in some book stores or book fairs. We're happy that we have this now at our very own home. I tried asking someone to customize it for us, but price is just way expensive. Ready-made book shelves in furniture shops are also costly and not many make kiddie furniture available. If you're an IG follower, you'd see how almost every night I post stories about my children and their love for books and reading.

I realize how important display is in forming a habit or encouraging children to do something - such as reading. It's also a joy for me to see them actually picking up the books on their own because it's within reach. This book shelf also teaches them to appreciate the books they have and properly handle them by putting back the books after use.

What I like about our wooden book shelf:
1. It fits all 80 books of my kids! - I was shocked myself upon counting all the books that's currently in our book shelf. My kids' books are categorized into fiction, non-fiction, comics, activity books, religious books. They are all there!
2. It's sturdy and durable. This book shelf isn't light, it's heavy because it's made of wood. Looking at its make, matibay siya talaga.
3. It's paint-free/lead-free. - This makes this furniture economically-safe and of course safe for children's daily use.
4. It comes in a perfect size. - Most of the book shelves you'll see in the market is not fit for children's use. I love its height, so whether my kids are sitting or standing up, reaching for books won't be a problem.
5. It has extra storage at its back for MORE BOOKS! - You read that right. More books mean more fun! More storage means, less clutter!
6. It's inexpensive - definitely a practical choice. - As I've earlier wrote, if you have this customized, it will come out more expensive and will take more time to have it made plus delivered to your doorstep. Toy Organizer

We also got a large toy organizer from Happy Kiddos and it made life easier for all of us. Their toys used to be in different boxes, closed lids, expandable barrels, and what have you but they still tend to be scattered all over and I wondered why. I figured why kids take out all toys from a bin or chest or barrel until they see the toy that they want to play with. It's because they have no visibility of the toys. Toys are piled up one after another after another in a box or bin or barrel.

With our new toy organizer, the toys are visible instantly to the kids. The toys are properly categorized and organized. Ours are organized this way, all big toys and small toys go together. All building blocks/LEGOs are together. All action figures go together in one compartment. All car toys in another container. All toys for toddler are organized together.

The toy containers come in small and large sizes which for me is perfect in separating big from small toys or toys for the toddler. I remember the first time I became a mom? Even the second or third time I became a new mom again. I waited for the baby to come out excitedly and when it finally happened, I experienced what it was like to be a Mom-zombie for the first two months.

Oh the first two months when he is hungry every two hours and wide awake enough to redesign my face with dark eye luggage eerr.. eye bags. Sleepless nights. Cranky baby. Unpleasant mornings. But no matter how hard (and sometimes painful it was) during those times, I still wouldn't trade it for anything else.

Fast forward to today, my youngest is almost a toddler. He sleeps longer peacefully, he sleeps more comfortably at night, and wakes up to great mornings every day. I remember praying for his longer and unrestricted movements at night (which will not wake him up easily) plus some bedtime routine to ensure he wakes up to great mornings.

TIPS FOR BABY'S GREAT MORNINGS
The secret to great mornings for our babies is of course a well-prepared night. So here are some tips to keep baby well rested at night and achieve happy mornings.

1. Give baby a warm bath. A quick warm bath at night both refreshes and relaxes our babies. If you have a lavender-based bath essentials and baby-safe scents or oils the better. Lavender helps calm the baby to ensure a good night's sleep.

2. Give baby a relaxing massage. A light massage using a natural based oil or a Paraben-free lotion relaxes our babies. Touch therapy also is a good way to bond with your baby and make him feel loved and secured. In no time, baby will feel sleepy, just how we feel when we go to the spa for a massage right?

3. Read a book together - Yes, reading to babies as early as you can develops their love for reading, improves their vocabulary faster, and calms them to prepare for sleep. Additionally, when babies are read to, their focus on the story or book of their choice (my baby has two favorite books already) keeps them away from the stimulus they got from whole day's activity. Reading also foster physical closeness between babies and parents. Babies feel relaxed and well-rested which gives way to a good sleep and better mornings.

4. Sing a lullaby to baby. Sing the same lullaby at night so baby will be sleep-trained faster. If you sing one lullaby every night, he will immediately associate it with sleeping time.

When I was younger and still studying Science and Technology and after having been to the old Planetarium during one of our field trips, I never stopped wonder what’s out there in our space. I’ve always been fascinated what’s outside earth, the universe, the galaxy, the moon, the starts, the sun, even aliens, do they exist? But of course, when I became a mom, I shifted my fascination to my kids, human beings already, hindi na aliens.

But that outer space fascination was passed on to my boys, who love space ships and wonder about travelling to the moon, have watched about aliens’ existence on the internet and wonder what’s it like to be an astronaut. Mind Museum’s newest travelling exhibition, Space Adventure: Journey to the Wonders of the Universe, turned their wild imaginations to reality last weekend during its opening.

Kids and I are about to embark on our space mission!

The Space Adventure is divided to three areas. First is the Fantastic Universe where kids will learn about our links to the stars, cosmic calendar, the Big Bang theory, and many more. My kids enjoyed the Star Wheel, Geoboard, and the little one sat at the Draw An Alien activity table.

Second area is Discover Our Solar System, where we learned about our neighborhood in space, know why Pluto is no longer a planet, know our weights in different planets, phases of moon, and many more. Speaking of differing weights in each planet, I tried weighing on Earth. As a side story, I was filming the rise in kilograms as I stepped on the weighing scale hoping it would stop at a certain number, but it didn’t. So I checked if it’s really Earth’s weighing scale I was stepping on, Earth naman. As an adult, my takeaway is.. to start dieting. Lol. Kidding aside, the exhibits were all interactive, educational and super fun. My kids enjoyed the different stations of learning.

The last area is called Explore Outer Space where kids will play pretend to launch rocket balls to Mars in Mission to Mars. What my 7yo enjoyed best in this area is of course the Mars space Station where he role-played as an astronaut, wore an astronaut suit, went in their sleeping quarters. Later on, the little one joined in navigating the control room pretending to maneuver the space ship.

This boy is still as playful as he was at three years old. Super gifted with energy!

Friendly areas for little explorers such as my little one. The Space Sensory Table is perfect for his age with supervision.

The Space Adventure is ONLY for kids aged 2 to 102 years old, hey that means everyone! Yes! K-12 students particularly will find their space science lessons in the new DepEd curriculum come alive through the different exhibits. It’s indeed an exhibit for everybody, the little explorers get a hand on different exhibit displays while parents, they bond and guide the kids through the interactive areas.

Overall, The Mind Museum’s Space Adventure exhibit was educational, is perfect for imaginative kids of all ages, safe for bigger kids (please don’t leave smaller kids alone to explore), and highly interactive. Adults will also enjoy the exhibit because there are a number of interesting facts that I bet you didn’t know too. The exhibit is spacious enough though their ventilation could still be improved. Make sure you bring towels, a fan, and extra clothes because the kids will use all those extra energies they have to explore the Space Adventure exhibit. The exhibit is conceived and created by The Mind Museum, with the support of exhibit partners Department of Science and Technology, Neltex, and LEGO.

I am a mother of three boys and all these boys come from different childhood stages - a teenager, a young child, and a toddler. I would never ever claim to be an expert mom because there's always something new to learn about motherhood and parenting each day and each transition of my children to the next childhood level.

My children have big gaps like 7 and 6 years apart so each already belong to different generations and parenting styles differ from each other. If there are a few items constant in parenting my children, it's always praying that we'll be able to give the best to them in all areas of their lives.

Last week, I had a privilege together with other mom bloggers, to attend a parenting talk given by Dr. Rita Paz Rowena A. De Guzman. Dr. Rita is a well-known Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician. I was all ears during her parenting talk because sometimes I thought I'm doing it right, but actually I am not in some areas. Not that I see myself as not enough, but I am all for continuous learning and developing as an individual, as a wife, as a professional, and as parent.

I would like to share with you today my key takeaways during her talk about children. But first," she pointed out why "Ang Sarap Maging Kid" talaga. I hope that this will also help you gain insights and improve on your parenting roles.

ANG SARAP MAGING KID DAHIL:

1. Malaki Ulo, Pero Hindi Mayabang - children when they are about to come out of this world is normally in cephalic position, head down, because it's the heaviest part of the baby's body. Why? Its brain is filled with neurons (50B neurons grabe) which are double in number than what we have now and significant part is still developing. So as parents we have to take advantage of this time to teach them new and of course good things. It matters that we spend time with our children and talk to them as often as we could for them to pick up new words each day, for them to have faster motor skills development, and for them.

2. Maraming Connections (or Synaptic Connections) - this just means, that the growth of the brain neurons connections should be maximized until the age of three or pre-school age because, at that time, our child have developed half of the brain connections that will be made in one's lifetime. So as parents, we really have to take advantage of this time. This made me quite guilty because I was working most of my second child's preschool years.

3. Mabilis Pumick-Up - at an early stage our children learns fast and develops their fine motor skills, language, cognitive, and social skills as well. But each child is unique so their development differs from one another even if let's say, same age. Let's not compare our children from other children's developments. For example, on walking, all my kids started walking by 10 months, if yours still isn't walking by 10 months, it's perfectly fine. The average age of babies start to walk by 13 months. Children also learn about their surroundings and how to interact through play. So apart from guided play, I learned that they should be given a solitary play so they could discover things on their own.

4. Lumalaki, Tumatangkad/ Tulog nang Tulog- Do you remember when our parents or guardians used to say we should sleep in the afternoon para lalong tumangkad? It's not a myth, it's scientifically true. Our growth hormones are activated or released when sleep. So sleep at night and nap time in the afternoon are important. Here's a table of the recommended hours of sleep for our children.

Also here are some tips to help them sleep better at night (works for adults too):
- No games or exposure to screens 6 hours before bedtime.
- No TV, not even the standby mode (red small light emitted even when TV is off) When there are no TV our Melatonin hormones are released hence make us fall asleep well.
- Make room conducice to sleep, has to be well-ventilated, clean space and beddings too.

5. Matigas Ang Buto, Malakas Ang Tuhod - We all want our children to be tall right? Height comes from first genes, next could be improved with good sleep, and third comes from the growth of the bones. But environmental factors particularly nutrition may contribute to 20 - 40% of our children's weight. I also learned that closure of growth plate for boys is until age 22 and for girls it's until age 18.

6. Masaya, Masigla, Malambing - Kids who throw tantrums should be understood better by their parents. They throw tantrums because sometimes they can't put their emotions into words to make their parents understand them. They get frustrated. Have you experienced this with your child? What do you do? I learned that when our child throws tantrums, we should ignore him, let him settle down, and don't give in to his wants. When he is settled, it's best to embrace the child and let him know he is loved.

OUR KIDS NEED LOVE AND PROTECTION
Since they are kids, they are also prone to sickness and some other nutritional issues such as:
1. Sickness - Top 10 diseases from the ward discharges from 27 PPS-HAB accredited hospitals as of March 2018 are:
- Pneumonia
- Diarrheoea
- Asthma
- Urirary system disorders
- Viral Infection of unspecified site
- Convulsions
- Volume depletion
- Lymphoid Leukemia
- Acute Respiratory Infections

2. Underweight - the poorest in the urban areas in our country suffers from this.

3. Stunt in growth - the poorest in the rural areas in our country are stunt in growth among children.

So given these facts, we were also taught about the right parenting styles and nutrition to be given to our kids.

MAKE THIS A BETTER WORLD FOR THE CHILDREN
DO WHAT'S TAMA FOR KIDS:
1. Quality Time vs Quantity Time? Should be both! You can't offer quality time if time isn't enough. It's important that when we are with our children, we engage with them and not just stick to our mobile phones or any gadget. Let's read to them, sing to them, play with them, talk to them, and teach them good things.

2. 30,000 Words Per Day - Surprisingly, that's what our children need a day. Woah, ako talaga I was like, is this even possible? Well, according to Dr. Rita, Dr. Seus' Cat In The Hat book already has 1,626 words so if you read this 18x that makes 29,268 words. But we don't want to do that. We can fill this in by talking to them, singing to them, and just engaging with them because the average IQ of a child at age 3 was correlated to levels of daily talk to the child during the first three years of life. So if child is almost 3 and has fewer than 25 words and can't combine them in a simple 2-word sentence, a consultation with a specialist is needed.

3. No screen time as much as possible for children under 2 years of age. - handheld scree time linked with speech delays in young children.

4. Play time recommended - for toddlers 1 - 3 years old, at least 60 minutes to several hours per day of physical activity plus at least 30 minutes of structured play. For children 3-5 years old, at least 60 minutes of unstructured physical activity and at least 60 minutes of structured play. They shouldn't be sedentary for greater than 60 minutes, except when sleeping.

5. Good nutrition through food/food supplement intake - plate should have a combination of fruits, vegetables, meat, and grains/dairy. They also have a recommended vitamin intake per day, see tables below.

But most of the time, because of child's food preference or mood, we can't give them the full nutritional requirement to ensure that they grow up healthy. Ang ganda ng talk ni Dr. Deborah Webber and I really learned a lot. Here were some of the parenting tips or learnings I picked up from her talk:

What's so important about choosing the right kind of toys for our kids? Hindi ba pwedeng kung anong laruan ni Kuya, pwede na rin palaro sa bunso?
No. There are toys that could be over-stimulate a younger child which will not help in his brain development. Always check the age-appropriate labels of the toys. Toys which are interactive and challenging enough but without causing him frustration. Plus, not all toys of older child's generation still meet the safety standard of toys today.

How about exposing my child to differnt toys, kasi ang daming regalo nung birthday?
Dr. Webber answered this by saying, choose a few toys he would get used to seeing or playing each day. Too much again would over stimulate the child. If he gets tired of these set of toys, you may change the selection of toys every 3 months.

What is independent or unstructured play?
It's the time when our children play by themselves without us stepping in. It's letting our children explore the educational toys and the surrounding by themselves so that they learn from these hands-on experience.

Should I start reading to my child when he's already talking?
The earlier the better. Read to the child even during infancy. It's a great way to bond with them and studies show that reading could improve the child's language skills and increase their interest in reading.

Tantrums. How to handle?
Let the child cry. He throws tantrums when he can't express how he feels with words. Give the child a few minutes to deal with his frustration. When he's already calm, talk to the child about what the situation, reassure him of your love and be firm.

Moms of this age are so lucky because there are so many resources that would help us (yes, kasama ako sa moms of little ones!) navigate through early childhood development and how toys play an integral part in their Physical, Cognitive, and Social & Emotional Development. Honestly, being a mom of almost 15 years still doesn't make me an expert at all on motherhood and parenting. There are still so many new things to learn each time. Mother's Day is just around the corner. I usually get teary-eyed when the month of May starts for so many reasons. First, it's my late mom's birthday month. Second, it's my parents' wedding anniversary month. Lastly, it's Mother's Day month. A month when mothers all over the world are appreciated by their children and even their husbands for all the selfless love, service, and nurturing she gives to her children, the comfortable life she gives her husband - for not having to worry much about bathing the children or changing nappies or making school or travel checklists or finding anything that's lost in the house. LOL! Real story right there.

Moms are usually surprised or asked what gifts she'd like to receive. But more often than not, we reply with "Kahit wala na, basta complete tayo, ayos na." or with "Kahit ano, basta galing sa inyo." 7. Books - reading is in itself considered a ME-time for moms who find inspiration. motivation, encouragement. nourishment, wisdom from. I've been all kinds of mom, a single mom, a full time SAHM, a busy working mom for many years, and after leaving more than 16 years in the corporate, I am now a WAHM. Different phases in my life, different situations and different circumstances made me decide which kind of mom I should be with God's guidance and strength. It's not because I was pressured to be who I should be and it's not because I was dictated by anyone as well. I persevered and conquered every stage all for the same reason, my children.

But the road wasn't smooth all the time. I've been a mom three times over and still I sometimes don't get it. Really. I've made many choices, in fact experimented on some, to make sure I make it right. Sometimes it works, sometimes it fails. But what's the most important of all - and what God looks at - is my HEART. My intentions. And all I want is to be an intentional and loving MOM. And whether I do it right or wrong, I know and I keep on reminding myself when I forget, that I AM ENOUGH. The #Mompowerment Campaign is all about the power of sharing stories that connect moms to each other, making them feel they belong to something bigger, making them want to do better and be better because authentic, heart-filled stories empower.

Through Expo Mom, #Mompowerment is set to be a 7-month long, multi-platform campaign highlighting the stories of more than 50 moms from Manila as well as from around the Philippines such as Cebu, Davao, Negros, Cagayan de Oro and Baguio, sharing their #mompowerment moments so they can inspire others. These are stories of success in the everyday pursuit of balance; stories of courage from moms who’ve undergone major trials and struggles in life; stories of moms who have gone beyond their hearth and homes to make a difference for others. Cumulatively, these are all stories of moms who empower moms whether they are real moms, mompreneurs, influencers, experts, trailblazers or philanthropists.

The initial set of #Mompowerment moms’ portraits were captured by established photographer and mom of 3, Sheila Catilo, their stories were captured on video by Jason Magbanua’s Little Big Day team. Mommy Mundo hopes that through these stories, moms from all over the nation will learn to recognize their own mompowerment and share these stories by coming to Expo Mom, or by sharing their stories online, creating a strong, positive movement of empowered women.

Expo Mom 2018: #Mompowerment

Mommy Mundo’s flagship event Expo Mom is attended by over 12,000- 15,000 moms annually since its conception 11 years ago. Expo Mom 2018: #Mompowerment, slated for May 18-20 in Glorietta Activity Center, is the biggest and longest running, nationwide, mom-focused event, and will kick off the nationwide roadshow.

Now that I am a work at home mom, I get to manage the household very closely. By that I mean I take care of my children personally, I clean the house/dishes/clothes and whatever needs to be cleaned, and lastly, I get to plan, market, choose the food and cook at least twice every single day.

FISH HUNGARIAN SAUSAGE

You kinda have an expected taste when you say sausages right? So I didn't know what to expect while opening the package and about to cook them, because they are made of fish right? So honestly, I was expecting it to taste close to Kikiam with a kick of sausage taste.

BUT NO!!!! Not at all! Surprisingly, nothing smelled and tasted fishy. It's the real deal hungarian sausage taste! The package is good for 3-4 servings. We like the taste and the light kick of spiciness in it.

CRISPY BANGUS DINAING MARINATED

My family is a heavy breakfast and fish or seafood eaters. So having fish anytime of the day is a welcome treat! And if you would be interested to ask if my kids like fish, YES, super! And vegetables too. So, how's the taste? It is definitely crispy on the outside because of its breading, and it's fully cooked and tender inside. The taste reminds me of my mom who used to marinate Dinaing na Bangus herself. This is 100% made of Bangus, breaded, deboned, and Garlic and Vinegar marinated. The pack is good for 4-5 servings. Serve it with garlic fried rice and slices of tomato, hot brewed coffee, and mag-kamay for the best Pinoy breakfast experience. Of course don't forget to wash your hands! :)

SMOKED DEBONED MILKFISH

Personally, more than dried fish and dinaing na Bangus, I like Tinapa so much ever since I was a child. When I first tasted Fisher Farms PH's Smoked Deboned Milkfish, I instantly liked it. The bangus meat is tender and fresh. The serving size per pack is generous, could even feed 4-5 hungry persons. BANGUS SISIG

Honestly like the Hungarian Sausage, I was expecting this to taste seafoody-sisig, because after all it's a frozen seafood product. Other bangus sisig I've tried tastes like that, fish. But THIS, oh my, it's Bangus but it didn't taste fishy or malansa. It says microwaveable on its packaging, but in my case, since I ditched the microwave, cooking it in a pan did the trick. Usually a Sisig would need toyo-mansi (soy sauce + kalamansi) to season it. Fisher Farms PH's Bangus Sisig do not need seasoning anymore because it's tasty and in fact, for a frozen product it passed my and husband's Sisig taste standards, this is in comparison to the Sisig in famous grill restos in Metro Manila. :)

Praise God that my kids don't get sick often. I get really scared about illnesses that a mosquito bite may bring and another dreaded illness is anything related to their tummies.
